Assam in Flames’ novel depicts the war-cry of Assamese. We cannot simply overlook the harsh fact that indigenous people of Assam are living under the grip of fear that they would be turned into refugees in their own home-land.
The uncontrolled influx of muslim migrants from Bangladesh has crossed all the limits. They have already out-numbered the Assamese and gone up to such an extent to attack the native people and render them homeless. Yes, Assam is in Flames in true sense. This crisis is not exaggerated, nor it is related only with middle class or any ethnic group. But it is to be viewed in totality.
