Dr. A.P. Maheshwari (an IPS officer of 1984 batch) during his tenures in communally sensitive towns of UP; conflict-ridden zones of Assam, J&K & states impacted by Maoist violence while being with the CRPF and BSF; rose to head the Bureau of Police Research and Development and Internal Security Wing of Ministry of Home Affairs. He culminated his career as Chief of the largest armed police force, the CRPF. His concern for the wellbeing of frontline warriors in low-intensity conflict zones pulled him towards yoga and spiritual healing which was further fortified by his personal faith. He has authored over 14 books on several poignant facets of life which have been well appreciated. His works have received appreciation from an eminent persons like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Gaurapant Shivani, Gopal Das Neeraj, Ruskin Bond & others. His decorations include President’s Medal for Distinguished Services, Police Medal for Gallantry, and Pt. Govind Vallabh Pant award.
