Dr. G.K. Varshney recently retired as an Associated Professor from Shyam Lal College (Eve), University of Delhi. He has been the Head of the Department of Commerce and the Chief Proctor of the College. He held the post of Coordinator, the IGNOU Study Centre, Shyam Lal College. He knows English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Urdu Languages. He has authored sixteen books on various titles of commerce. He holds the considered view that the Gita is one of the best scriptures of the world. It contains logical solutions to each and every human problem, including certain specific lessons for developing managerial acumen. He believes that the Karma Theory of the Gita is the real answer of all the happenings taking place in relation to the individuals and to the world. Dr. Varshney’s motto is : Selfless service to the society.
डॉ. जी.के. वार्ष्णेय हाल ही में श्याम लाल कॉलेज (सांध्य), दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से एसोशिएट प्रोफेसर के पद से सेवानिवृत्त हुए हैं।
वे वाणिज्य विभाग के अध्यक्ष तथा कॉलेज के चीफ प्रॉक्टर रहे। श्यामलाल कॉलेज में इगनू स्टडी सेंटर के को-ऑर्डीनेटर रहे; उनको इंग्लिश, हिंदी, संस्कृत तथा उर्दू भाषाओं का ज्ञान है। उन्होंने वाणिज्य के विभिन्न विषयों पर सोलह पुस्तकें लिखी हैं तथा हिंदू धर्मग्रंथों के अध्ययन में अपनी विशिष्ट रुचि सर्वदा बनाए रखी है, जैसे—वेद, उपनिषद्, समृतियाँ, सूत्र, महाभारत, रामायण, पुराण आदि तथा साथ ही ईसाई तथा इसलामी धर्मग्रंथों का भी अध्ययन किया है। पत्रिकाओं में धार्मिक तथा आध्यात्मिक विषयों पर लेख भी लिखे। उनका सुविचारित मत है कि गीता विश्व के सर्वोच्च धर्मग्रंथों में से एक है। इसमें प्रत्येक मानवीय समस्या के संबंध में तर्कसंगत समाधान उपस्थित है। साथ ही इसमें प्रबंधकीय विदग्धता विकसित करने की शिक्षाएँ सन्निहित हैं। उनका विश्वास है कि व्यक्तियों के साथ तथा विश्व में घटित होनेवाली विभिन्न घटनाओं का वास्तविक उत्तर गीता का ‘कर्म सिद्धांत’ है। उनका आदर्श-वाक्य है— समाज की निष्कास सेवा।’
