A retired consultant surgeon. Finished studies both in India and England in the seventies. His first job was as a consultant in a mission hospital in Haridwar, next in the corporate sector and finally in the periphery of Delhi setting up an NGO providing comprehensive health care to weaker sections of society at a price affordable by them.
Wrote the first ever book on rural surgery, helped in the formation of the Association of Rural Surgeons of India, and later the International Federation of Rural Surgery with participants from Germany, Holland, US, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Nigeria and other African countries.The author has been invited several times abroad in varous International surgical conferences to show what the Indian Rural Surgeon is doing in India today.
