Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has penned various literary genres to his credit, has published more than one hundred books on poetry, story, novel, tourism, culture and children’s literature. More than two dozen researches and minor researches have been conducted on his literary works. Currently, there are many ongoing researches carried on in many universities. His books have been translated into many international languages like English, French, Creole, German, Spanish, Nepali and several Indian regional languages. He has received literary honours at Rashtrapati Bhavan at the hands of four Presidents of the country for the creation of excellent literature and have been bestowed with international honours by the Heads of State and Prime Ministers of more than a dozen countries of the world by inviting him to their country. He has been conferred with several coveted prestigious awards from foreign governments and Universities. Renowned Indian and international literary organisations have also honoured him for his literary contribution. Lok Sabha MP, Former Union Education Minister, Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
